Rosepane exists because the most basic question about a workforce, who was here and in what role on a given day, still gets answered from a spreadsheet.
Why a rose window
A rose window is one picture made of many panes, each cut and set by hand, held together by lead. It’s only complete when light passes through all of them.
That’s how we think about an organization’s record: one whole, made of many people, teams and sources, each kept intact and joined carefully. Nothing is painted over. Each piece stays where it was set.
What we believe
HR systems are built to know what’s true now. That’s useful until someone asks what was true then, or what you believed when you made a decision, and the honest answer is that the system can’t say. A record that can’t tell you which version you’re holding is worse than no record.
So Rosepane keeps two clocks on every fact, shows its work on every answer, and leaves every judgment about people with people.
